Manila's vibrant food scene just welcomed a new major player: Daily Beer PH, the first Philippine branch of the globally recognized Korean Chimaek chain.

Chimaek (치맥) is a popular South Korean pairing where chi (치) is an abbreviation of chicken (치킨, chikin) and maek (맥) is the first syllable of beer (맥주, maekju)

Daily Beer 생활맥주 is Korea's Number 1 Chimaek Chain, with over 400 locations worldwide, Daily Beer celebrated its grand opening in Arcovia City, bringing the beloved Korean "chimaek" culture – the perfect harmony of crispy fried chicken "Angry Bird Chicken" and ice-cold craft beer "Sub-Zero Freeze Korean Craft Beer" – to the Philippines.

The spacious 100-seater restaurant is designed to be a lively hub where friends and families can connect, share laughter, and create memories over great food and drinks. In essence, chicken and beer are best enjoyed socializing. “Beer is one of the best ways people connect; it’s about connection, not intoxication,” explains Sang Jin Lim “We aim to create a lively place filled with laughter, where guests make memories worth coming back for.”

Founded in 2014, Daily Beer stands out by controlling every step of the process, from brewing to distribution, ensuring a consistently high standard. "Our beer experts and chicken specialists built a fresh take on chimaek and over the last twelve years the brand has grown into a leading beer brand in Korea," explains Sang Jin Lim.

Prepare to explore a diverse selection of world-class craft beers. From the approachable Red Lager to the unique Ginseng Lager brewed with Korean wild yeast, and generously hopped IPAs, there's a beer for every palate. Guests can also enjoy popular highballs and even sample a flight of five different beers to discover their favorites. Whang hopes to help the Filipino market develop an appreciation for Daily Beer’s next-level Korean craft brews. "We’re not in the business of selling “a drink to get drunk”. We’ll keep introducing a broader, higher-quality spectrum of beers that invite discovery and deliver global-caliber offerings that passionate beer drinkers are looking for," says Sang Jin Lim.

Craft and Crunch: The Perfect Pairing

Daily Beer’s menu is designed to elevate the beer experience with its unique chicken and craft beer combinations. The signature Daily Chicken is a must-order, seasoned to perfection with flavorful sauces. The “Angry Bird” fried chicken, one of our best-sellers, is expected to be a hit for the Filipino palate. “We [Daily Beer] built it to be at its best with beer: shatter-crisp outside, tender inside, and dialed-in for pairing. The “Angry Bird” chicken showcases that balance. It’s also worth mentioning that the spiciness of the fried chicken has been adjusted to comfortable Filipino tastes and preferences,” Whang explains. He also believes that it's worth a visit to Daily Beer just for the chicken alone, which are like no other Korean fried chicken available in the local market.

“Beyond beer, our fried chicken is renowned in Korea,” shares Sang Jin Lim. “ We obsess over food pairings that elevate the beer and an authentic Korean chimaek-culture. All our dishes do well, but even in Korea’s hyper-competitive market our chicken stands out. Everything is reconsidered how we brine, how we fry, how we season. We’ve long believed chicken is the most beer-friendly food, and we’ve developed the menu so that carbonation, bitterness, and a dry finish reset the palate after each bite.”

Besides barkadas and officemates, Daily Beer is also a family destination where everyone can enjoy good food and especially good fried chicken. On average, prices for Daily Chicken range from P550-P950, good for 3-4 family members or barkadas. “For first-time customers, I always recommend starting with our Cheese Balls and Chewy Doughnut, then ending on a sweet note with our Crispy Pastry Honey Hotteok.” Whang says. Other favorites include Korean comfort staples such as Gimbap, Tteokbokki, and the sweet-and-sour Chicken Gangjeong, each designed to pair perfectly with beer while shining on their own.

What's Next for Daily Beer PH?

OPV is already preparing another Daily Beer branch opening at SM Fairview this January 2026 and at Paseo Parkview in Salcedo Makati in April 2026, with more on the drawing board. Whang and Sang Jin Lim share that they are planning to strengthen exchange between the Philippines and Korea through selective collaborations with local breweries. “This partnership is very strong and exciting, and we’ll keep developing beers based on Filipino guest feedback,” they say in ending.
