Why visit Yakiniku Sudaku, one of Makati City’s newest Japanese dining destinations.

Some celebrations call for more than just good food, we all deserve a place where stories are shared, laughter fills the room, and every dish becomes part of the memory. For our recent family member birthday celebration, we found exactly what we are looking for, that's Yakiniku Sudaku, one of Makati City’s newest Japanese dining destinations, find out why to include this into your go-to list.
From the moment we arrived, it felt like more than just another dinner reservation. It felt like the perfect setting to celebrate another year of life surrounded by family, great food, and meaningful moments around the grill.
During our visit, we learned, the name Sudaku comes from an old Japanese word that means “to come together,” and after experiencing it firsthand, we couldn’t think of a more fitting name. The restaurant beautifully captures the spirit of gathering "we all love the vibe here!!" indeed it's a perfect place bringing people closer through authentic Japanese cuisine and warm hospitality.
Yakiniku Sudaku is Located conveniently in Makati City, 📍Upper Ground Floor Windsor Square, Antonio Arnaiz Avenue Cor. Ponce St. Brgy. San Lozenzo https://maps.app.goo.gl/MVEoCpe2NFQAttoT6. Parking was hassle-free they have outdoor and indoor parking.
As soon as we entered, the staff welcomed us with genuine smiles, greeted us the Japanese way, and attentive service that instantly made us feel comfortable. The interiors strike a balance between modern elegance and traditional Japanese warmth. The cozy lighting, wooden accents, and thoughtfully designed spaces create an atmosphere that feels relaxing without being overly formal.
The private room features authentic Japanese-style design. Guests are asked to remove their shoes at the entrance and enter barefoot; however, sanitized slippers are provided for moving around or using the restroom. They offer various seating arrangements to suit every occasion: cozy private rooms perfect for special gatherings, comfortable sofa sets with built-in grills, and casual bar-style counters also equipped with built-in grills.
Yakiniku Sudaku is ideal for intimate birthday celebrations, family reunions, and company events. A standout feature is that their private rooms can be combined or expanded to accommodate larger groups, while still keeping that private, exclusive feel.
A Dining Experience That Brings Everyone Together
One of the things we loved most about the evening was the interactive nature of yakiniku dining itself.
Unlike traditional restaurant meals where dishes simply arrive at the table, Yakiniku invites everyone to participate in the experience. The grill becomes the center of the table, conversations become longer, and meals naturally become more memorable. Watching family members take turns grilling meats, sharing recommendations, and enjoying each bite together made the birthday celebration feel even more special.
The Star of the Evening for us: Shempre the FOODs!!!
NABEMONO Experience. A Japanese Hotpot dish cooked right at the dining table assisted by the restaurant staff, featuring their A5 Omi Sukiyaki Set (P3,360)
Cooked and assisted by the restaurant staff, the experience felt almost theatrical in the best possible way.
The beautifully marbled slices of A5 Omi Wagyu were first cooked with brown sugar before being simmered gently in sukiyaki sauce. Each slice was then dipped into fresh egg yolk and staff encouraged us to eat right away (don't worry it is not too hot to eat), and that creating an incredibly silky texture that practically melted in our mouths. "Grabe satisfying talaga!" Rich, buttery, and wonderfully balanced, it quickly became everyone’s favorite dish of the night. Watching my whole fam enjoy it one by one is so heartwarming to watch. After the A5 Omi Wagyu was enjoyed, the staff continued preparing the sukiyaki vegetables and broth in the same pan, allowing every ingredient to absorb the incredible flavors left behind by the premium beef. Our dinner turned into an experience we will remember long after the celebration ended.
Premium Wagyu Worth Celebrating
Of course, no visit to Yakiniku Sudaku would be complete without trying their premium Yakiniku A5 OMI Wagyu Moriawase selections (by the way they have different selections available)
But we chose the 3-Variety Moriawase P2,380, which included:
Premium Lean Meat
Premium Loin
Premium Karubi
Each cut showcased the tenderness and beautiful marbling that Japanese Wagyu is known for.
For additional grilling favorites, we ordered YAKINIKU MEATS:
Buta Karubi (P390)– thick-cut boneless pork rib
Buta Bara (P390)– thinly sliced pork belly
Pairing them with the restaurant’s cheese dip made every bite even more indulgent and satisfying.
Appetizers, Sushi, Ramen, and Japanese Comfort Food
Beyond the grills, Yakiniku Sudaku offers an impressive selection of Japanese dishes that complement the yakiniku experience perfectly.
Our meal started with two appetizers that immediately set the tone for the evening:
Age Dashi Tofu with Minced A5 Omi Wagyu P590— silky tofu served in delicate dashi broth and topped with flavorful minced wagyu.
Hanetsuki Wagyu Gyoza P390 — crispy pan-seared wagyu dumplings with beautifully crisp edges and a delicious signature sauce.
Tori Nanban P390 - Cripsy Chicken with Nanban and Japanese Tartar sauce.
SUSHI: our son is ultimate sushi lover, we picked the Crazy Mango Roll (P580), featuring ebi tempura, cream cheese, cucumber, mango, shrimp, and ebiko. The combination of sweetness and freshness worked surprisingly well alongside the grilled meats. We also enjoyed the classic California Maki (P290), which quickly disappeared from the table ang sarap kasi!
NOODLES, For something warm and comforting, we ordered:
Omigyu Soba - Soba with A5 Omi Wagyu, wakame, spring onions, sesame and ginger. (P580)
Tonkotsu Ramen with rich pork broth and traditional toppings (P590)
Both bowls were hearty, flavorful, and perfect for sharing with the family.
For guests who enjoy vegetables, there’s also a vegetable buffet available for ₱250 per person, offering a variety of fresh options to enjoy alongside the grilled meats and sukiyaki.

Japanese beverages, including sake selections, are also available for those looking to complete the authentic dining experience. We love the desserts too, Matcha Ice Cream Parfait (P290) served with BDay Greetings, Japanese Jiggly Milk Pudding (P280), and Mixed Fresh Seasonal Fruits Anmitsu (P380)
Thoughtful Details That Complete the Experience
The overall dining experience was awesome.
The restaurant felt spacious, clean, and pleasantly quiet, making conversations easy even during peak dining hours, "hindi maingay hindi magulo, hindi mainit at hindi rin mausok". Plus points! The staffs were every attentive and welcoming. Even the restrooms deserve a mention, infairness malinis! spotless, well-maintained, and reflective of the restaurant’s attention to detail.
